The Second Week of My Holiday
9th July 2019
Thursday was our last day and we were headed back to Caernarfon to explore its castle. Now, I love historical sites. I really do. Whenever I was in South Wales we always scheduled in a stately home or a castle visit. I especially like being able to walk around and pretend that I own the place. 'And over here is where I entertain my guests, and just through there you will find the master bedroom, my room, of course.' Again, not even sorry, that is just who am I. It was a great day, walked round the castle, around the town, got some lunch, some Jaffa cake ice cream, that was delicious, destroyed my shoes. A fantastic day.
To those we are no longer with me,
So, this is a very, very late post. Nearly three weeks late to be exact, but since coming back from my holiday, not going to lie, I've been extremely, I really want to say busy but that would be a big lie. Lazy, I've been lazy. But anyway, here is the second week of my holiday.
Somewhere around Snowdon.
On Sunday we didn't really have a set plan so we decided to go on another of our drives. We were planning to explore Caernarfon Castle later in the week, so we started our drive around by figuring out how to get to the castle so that we didn't waste any of the day later on in the week. After we literally drove round the castle we headed out of Caernarfon and towards the coast. We stopped off at a little place called Dille where it was way too windy to get out of the car and enjoy the views so we pulled into a car park and enjoyed a bag of chips for lunch before heading off into the mountains. I mean that literally. We decided that on the way back to the campsite we would take a major detour and drive around Mount Snowdon, and let me tell you. The views are stunning. Amazing drive, took us a few hours, but amazing nonetheless.
The view of the Tramway and Llanfairfechan from the summit of Great Orme
Monday, we had planned a trip up The Great Orme via the Victorian Tramway. Now, I had done this before in year five with school, which was maybe fourteen or fifteen years ago, and all day long dad kept asking me questions about the trip and I couldn't remember a thing, only that we went down a copper mine, which I discovered was on Great Orme because you can see it from the halfway station, and that we saw the smallest house in the UK, which dad discovered, by way of google, is in Conwy. That is all I could remember yet, he still kept asking me questions I didn't know the answers to. We got to the summit of Great Orme and I then took the stupid steep way to the very top. There was an easier way, but I didn't know that until it was time for me to come down. After we got back to the car, we were going to go have a look around the shops in Llandudno, only it was a bit late and most of them had closed already so we actually ended up driving round the outside of the Great Orme itself before heading back to the campsite.

Bye Bye Puffin Island
Tuesday, Tuesday was a good day. Aside from the sun and wind burn I decided to accessories myself with when I neglected to listen to my mother and failed to put sun cream on my face. It was overcast when we left, alright? Anyway, we were back on Anglesey, my very happy place and this time in Beaumaris. Where we hung around for a little bit and we were early, I took a few pictures of a juvenile gull that we spotted before we headed out on a boat trip around Puffin Island, home to Anglesey's Puffins and other sea birds. We saw a few Puffins; dad has better Puffin pictures than me so I won't embarrass myself by including my mediocre Puffin picture. We saw a lot of other sea birds of which the names I don't recall right now, and a few grey seals, before heading back to Beaumaris, where, once off the boat and on the pier, we played Pooh Sticks with Jellyfish. I'm not even going to apologise for that. We then explored Beaumaris for a little bit, had an ice cream, did a little bit of shopping. Mum bought dad a Welsh Dragon to go in his car, he named him Beau, obviously. We then had a cone of chips before heading off in search of the Anglesey Sea Zoo. It was there that I realised I had burnt my face. Fun times.

Trearddur Bay
On Wednesday I found my second slice of paradise and it once again was on Anglesey. Trearddur Bay on the west coast of Anglesey is breath-taking! The water, the was crystal clear and thanks to the weather the sky was so very blue and I could have easily been back in Cyprus just then. That place is amazing, truly beautiful and I will find myself back there one day. What made it better was that I was finally able to acquire my highly sought-after Welsh RNLI bear. It's a thing I do, I'm not sorry. It is something I wanted from the first day we arrived in Wales and I had been looking but was unsuccessful until the penultimate day, but I got my bear.
On Friday we had to say goodbye and I was no prepared. For two reasons. Number one, I did not want to leave a part of the world that I had fallen so madly in love with. Number two, I got my end of year results that day. It was an okay day, a hot day, which is always best. Better to pack up in the sun than the rain. Apparently. The drive home was fine. Dad won Pub Cricket but we drew overall.
Wales, I love you. See you again soon.
So, that is what you've missed,
Love always
